We Can’t Control Everything And There’s A Beauty In It

[…] nearly all our daily doings go on without conscious awareness; our deepest motivations are shut away from conscious scrutiny; nearly all of our mental life takes place unknown to us; the most creative acts in the life of the mind come to pass unawares.

John N. Gray, Straw Dogs

We strongly believe that we have to act consciously in order to achieve anything, from going to a grocery store to creating masterpieces – we will it, thus it happens. Does it? Does everything we do happen only becase we wished it and actively participated in it? You may think that by wanting to by groceries and going to the store, which is a conscious action, that every other action also comes from our active and conscious participation in it.… Read more “We Can’t Control Everything And There’s A Beauty In It”

Education System Doesn’t Fit All

Education systems all around the world are create in such a way that they accommodate the majority of students. At least that’s what it has been portrayed time and time again by every school out there, from those that are deemed the best to those that don’t have such good reputations. The reality is different however.

“One-fits-all” system teaches children from the young ages to adulthood that they should conform to the intellectual standards imposed on them by the society. They are made to believe that their individual preferences and ways of seeing the world don’t matter, as the most important thing is to fit in.… Read more “Education System Doesn’t Fit All”

Why Are Some People Easily Manipulated?

Everyone can be manipulated. It’s a fact. No one can completely escape it, no one is immune to it. Even the greatest manipulators have been manipulated in the course of their lives. It’s natural. It’s not something you should be ashamed of. Many people believe that when they get manipulated (and become aware of it, and, let’s face it, the first step of getting out of the clutches of a manipulator is to become aware that you are being manipulated), it’s something that only could have happened to them. No one else in the entire world would ever allow people to manipulate them.… Read more “Why Are Some People Easily Manipulated?”

The Benefits of Expressing Negative Emotions

No one likes feeling negative emotions such as sadness, anger, anguish and so on. They make us feel bad, make our world shatter. They can be good for us, right? Wrong. Allowing ourselves to experience negative emotions can actually be beneficial for our mental health. Let me explain.

When you suppress negative emotions you create a mental and emotional problem. Negative emotions breed more negative emotions and what you end up doing is thinking about them instead of letting them go. What happens basically is that you get angry or sad or feel down about something and instead of letting yourself live through those emotions and let them go, you start overthinking things and getting yourself deeper and deeper down the spiral of negativity and despair.… Read more “The Benefits of Expressing Negative Emotions”

Why is it Important to Know Yourself?

You’ve probably heard this many times before – so many gurus, spiritualists, and others tell you that it’s important to know yourself. Unfortunately, they often deceive people by not letting them actually get to know and understand themselves, instead leading them to accept the guru’s version of themselves. It might not seem as much, but the thing is – you should be your own version of yourself, not someone else’s version of what they think you should be. It doesn’t matter if their intentions are good, and most of the time they are, the important things is that it’s not who you truly are.… Read more “Why is it Important to Know Yourself?”

Intuition or Wishful Thinking: How to Distinguish Between Intuition and Fears and Desires?

Intuition is something that is innate to every single one of us. There is no single person in the world who can say they don’t have intuition. We all have it. The problem is that we either don’t listen to it or – we can’t even recognize it. In this article, we’ll be dealing not so much with why you should listen to your intuition more, but with how to recognize intuition in the first place.

Let me first start by saying that, no matter how easy it seems to be able to recognize your own intuition, it’s not always the case.… Read more “Intuition or Wishful Thinking: How to Distinguish Between Intuition and Fears and Desires?”

Individual vs Universal Truth

There is only one truth. How many times have you heard that? How many times have you heard that there are countless lies and only one truth?

Let me give you an example: when something happens, everyone involved will have their own version of events but there is only one way that it happened. Even if no one ever gets to know what really happened, there is no questioning that there can be only one true version of it. This is almost a fact. The reason I say almost is that there are so many instances where things are not as clear and there can indeed be different and legitimate versions of the same event. Read more “Individual vs Universal Truth”

Can We Change?

I’m often asked if the change will happen if bad things in the world will change for good. If we, as humanity, will finally live in peace. When people ask these questions, they want a positive answer – they want me to say that yes, we are heading for a better and happier future. The reality is different.

First, asking anyone for predictions about what the future will bring is ludicrous. No one can tell you for sure what will happen. It’s impossible to know. If we were to know what was going to happen, we would have to presuppose the existence of destiny.Read more “Can We Change?”

Social Rules – Can We Be Helped?

Can a person be helped if they don’t want to be helped? It’s a difficult question to answer.

Truth be told, deep down everyone wants to be helped. There is no perfect human being with a perfect life. We strive towards that perfect life but we can’t ever get it. No matter how the things may look on the outside, some kind of pain always lies in our souls. It’s perfectly normal because without pain we wouldn’t be humans.

Still, while we all have problems, very few actually seek help to try to resolve those problems. It can be even more devastating if people don’t realize that they have problems.… Read more “Social Rules – Can We Be Helped?”

A Guide To Killing Creativity

This time I decided to do something that I usually don’t do and that is – to write a guide on how to kill creativity. I thought to myself – why not? After all, if we are going to kill creativity, let’s do it properly.

Start early

If you are dedicated to killing creativity in people, it doesn’t have much sense to do it when they are adults. By then people have already got used to being creative and using their creativity in the best possible ways. Don’t wait and let them become familiar with the charms of creativity. If you want to do a good job (or at least try to do it), you have to start when they are still young.… Read more “A Guide To Killing Creativity”
